Tiger Brokers
If you trade via Tiger Brokers, you can directly connect your brokerage account to Sharesight, allowing you to automatically sync your historic and ongoing trades to your Sharesight portfolio.
How to connect your Tiger Brokers account to Sharesight
Note: This connection is only available to New Zealand and Australian customers.
Step 1: Login to your Tiger Brokers account and select the Report tile.
Step 2: Select the "Tax Report" tab.
You can either link to your existing Sharesight account or create a new one. These options will redirect you to a Sharesight Login/signup page.
Step 3: Authorise access to your sharesight account.
Note: This connection only shares your trade history and ongoing investment data with Sharesight. None of your personal account data is shared.
Step 4: Once the access is authorised, you will then be redirected to your Tiger Brokers account. Moving forward, your trades will be synced daily [ 23:00 AEDT ]. If you have multiple portfolios on Sharesight, your Tiger account can be linked to the specific portfolio by clicking on the "Edit" option.
Users with an existing Sharesight account who have already reconciled their trades on Tiger: Please select a Sync trades date to avoid duplicate transactions and click on connect.
Step 5: Click on the "View Tax Report" button to generate a report in Sharesight.
The connection between Tiger Brokers and Sharesight can be revoked at any time through your Sharesight account. If you wish to do so, select Account > Sharesight API > Tiger New Zealand (Revoke) or select Australia if you're an Australian investor.
Now that you have populated your portfolio we recommend you:
1 - Review the trades imported:
a - Handle any negative holdings - Holdings with less buy trades than sell trades (occurs when you have transferred stocks from another broker).
b - Check fractional share trades for rounding differences.
c - Exchange rates are generated by Sharesight using the end of day exchange rate. These can be edited within the trade.
d - Handle any non automated corporate actions such as mergers etc.
2 - Verify and confirm automatically generated data (dividends and corporate actions).
3 - Share access to your portfolio with your accountant.
