Sharesight Pricing FAQs

General questions

What plans does Sharesight offer?
Sharesight offers four main plans for individual investors: Free, Starter, Investor, and Expert. We also have a separate Business plan for accountants, advisors and family offices who manage portfolios on behalf of their clients.
Do all paid plans come with a free trial?
Yes, all paid plans (Starter, Investor, and Expert) include a 7-day free trial. The Free plan can be used indefinitely with its limited features.
Can I change my plan later if my needs change?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Your billing will be adjusted accordingly.

Portfolio size & holdings

How do I know how many portfolios I need?
  • Choose the Free or Starter plan if you only need to track a single portfolio.
  • Choose the Investor plan if you need to track 2-4 separate portfolios (e.g., personal investments, retirement accounts, family portfolios).
  • Choose the Expert plan if you need to track 5-10 portfolios.
What counts as a "holding" in Sharesight?
A holding refers to a single investment position, such as shares in a company, ETF, mutual fund, or other security types. Each unique security in your portfolio counts as one holding.
What counts as a "portfolio" in Sharesight?
A portfolio typically refers to a tax entity. But many customers prefer to use it interchangeably with an account. If you run out of accounts, you could use our label functionality to tag holdings from specific brokers.
I have more than 10 holdings but don't want to pay. What are my options?
The Free plan limits you to 10 holdings. If you have more than 10 holdings, you'll need to upgrade to at least the Starter plan (30 holdings) or consider the Investor or Expert plans for unlimited holdings.
What are "custom groups" and how many do I need?

Custom groups allow you to organise your investments into categories of your asset allocation strategy. The standard groups break down your investments by market, country, sector, industry etc. The number you need depends on how you want to analyze your investments:',

  • Free plan: 1 custom group
  • Starter plan: 3 custom groups
  • Investor plan: 5 custom groups
  • Expert plan: 10 custom groups

Which plan should I choose if I need diversity and exposure reporting?

  • Choose the Expert plan if you specifically need Multi-Period reporting for comparing performance across different time periods.
What's the difference between "Limited," "Advanced," and "Full" reporting?

I manage investments for my family members. Which plan is appropriate?
