Welcome to the March 2025 edition of Sharesight’s monthly trading snapshot for New Zealand investors, where we look at the top 20 trades made by New Zealand Sharesight users. Top trades in March 2025

This month, the top trades were strongly led by the Smartshares US 500 ETF (NZX: USF). Compared to the previous months, March was a weaker month for ETF trading, with only 7 of the top 20 trades consisting of ETFs. March marked a month of increased trading in US tech stocks, as well as stocks listed on the NZX.

This month’s top-traded stocks were led by Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), which saw its share price hit a 52-week low during a challenging period for US tech stocks. The top trades were followed by NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA), which recorded fluctuating share prices throughout March but largely continued on a downward trend, experiencing its most significant drawdown since 2022.
