Announcing the Sharesight Fintech Scholarship's 2024 winner
We are pleased to announce the winner of the Sharesight Fintech Scholarship for 2024, Temiremi Egwuenu.
As a fintech company, we’re passionate about helping students get started on their pathway to successful careers in the financial and financial technology spaces.
We also believe gaining a solid education and knowledge of business fundamentals is crucial not only in helping students lead successful professional lives, but also in adopting an investing mindset from a young age that will help them grow their wealth over the long term.
With this in mind, we established the Sharesight Fintech Scholarship, offering a one-off cash grant to a prospective student planning to study at an Australian university in the greater financial field.
This year’s winner, Temiremi Egwuenu, is studying a Bachelor of Applied Finance at Macquarie University, with the aim to continue working in investment and entrepreneurship after she completes her studies.
According to Temiremi, one of the main reasons problems in our world don’t get solved as quickly as they should is not because of a lack of creativity, intelligence or ideas, but because of a lack of capital. This inspired her to found a company called Xponential Capital, which aspires to address this problem.
“Xponential Capital is a self-funded, self-managed investment firm interested in the fintech, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, robotics, space exploration, energy and nanotechnology industries,” says Temiremi.
“My ultimate goal is to bring together the knowledge I’ve learnt in the past five years together with the theoretical knowledge I’m gaining at university, in order to bridge the gap between finance and technology.”
Applications for our 2024 scholarship have closed, however prospective students may now apply for the 2025 calendar year by filling out the form here.
