How to get the best Sharesight experience on mobile

On 3 October 2022, we will be retiring the Sharesight Reader mobile app and removing it from app stores. While Sharesight customers using the app will still have access until 1 November 2022, we highly recommend switching to Sharesight’s mobile web experience. Superior to the Sharesight Reader app, our mobile web experience gives investors the full Sharesight experience on their phone or tablet.

It’s easy to add Sharesight to your mobile device – just like an app – simply follow the instructions below.

Why switch from the Reader app to Sharesight’s mobile web experience?

We launched the Sharesight Reader mobile app in 2016 as a way to give investors access to their Sharesight portfolio on the go. Since then, we have significantly grown our user base and expanded Sharesight to investors in over 100 different countries, adding countless new features and improvements to Sharesight along the way.

Because it was built on legacy technology, we feel that the Sharesight Reader app no longer offers Sharesight customers the best possible experience. The good news is that we have been continually investing in updates and improvements to our mobile web experience, making it the perfect solution for investors who want the full Sharesight desktop experience on their mobile device.

Here’s what makes our mobile web experience a superior alternative to the Sharesight Reader app:

How to add Sharesight to the home screen on your smartphone or tablet

Android

1. Open Google Chrome.

2. Navigate to portfolio.sharesight.com/login, enter your login details (or sign in with Google) and click "Log in".

3. Click "Add Sharesight to home screen" at the bottom of the screen. On some devices where this is not visible, simply click the three dots in the top right-hand corner and select “Add to Home Screen”.

4. There should be a pop-up prompting you to "Install app". Click “Install”.

5. You should now see the Sharesight icon on your home screen. The icon can be dragged around and placed anywhere, including in app folders - just like a normal app icon.

iOS

1. Open Safari.

2. Navigate to portfolio.sharesight.com/login, enter your login details (or sign in with Google) and click "Log in".

3. Once logged in, tap the "share" icon on the browser’s toolbar (it’s a rectangle with an arrow pointing upward). It’s on the bar at the top of the screen on an iPad, and on the bar at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone.

4. Scroll through the options at the bottom of the share menu and click "Add to Home Screen".

5. Click "Add" on the “Add to Home Screen” pop-up.

6. You should now see the Sharesight icon on your home screen. The icon can be dragged around and placed anywhere, including in app folders - just like a normal app icon.

How to revoke access to the Sharesight Reader mobile app

If you have installed the Sharesight Reader app, we would recommend that you uninstall the app and use the shortcut to the mobile website. Once you have uninstalled the Sharesight Reader app, simply log in to Sharesight via your mobile device and navigate to Settings > Sharesight API > Revoke access to "Sharesight Reader".

Will there be another Sharesight app?

We are not currently working on another Sharesight app, however we do have plans to undertake research on the technology and features our customers would expect to see in a future app.
